How to Setup Assessments, Quizzes and Tests in Kajabi (Kajabi tutorial)

kajabi

Kajabi is a powerful platform that enables entrepreneurs, educators, and content creators to build and manage online courses. One of its standout features is the ability to create what Kajabi calls "assessments" and "quizzes," which you can use to create whatever you want to call them - exams, tests, assessments, quizzes, etc. This blog post and the video linked above will walk you through exactly how to use these two features - quizzes and assessments, in Kajabi, ensuring that you can effectively engage your learners and track their progress.

And you can follow along by grabbing your 30-day free trial of Kajabi using this link, and as an additional bonus, I will give you my free Kajabi Made Simple online course.

Creating Quizzes in Kajabi

I highly recommend you check out the video above (I am linking it here as well), so you can see my step-by-step practical tutorial of how to do this in Kajabi.

Step 1: Navigate to the Quiz Creation Area

To create a quiz, start by opening your online course in Kajabi (see video for details). For example, if you have a course titled "Drop 30 and Keep It Off," click on "Add Content" and choose "Quiz."

Step 2: Set Up Your Quiz

  1. Name and Describe Your Quiz: Give your quiz a clear title and description to inform your learners about its purpose. For instance, you might call it the "Drop 30 Exam".

  2. Define Passing Criteria: Set a passing grade, typically around 70%, to ensure that learners demonstrate adequate understanding before progressing.

  3. Configure Email Notifications: Decide if you want to send completion emails to both your learners and your team. This feature helps keep track of who has completed the quiz.

  4. Adjust Quiz Settings: You can choose to prevent learners from marking the quiz as complete without achieving the passing grade and hide answers on the results page for a more rigorous assessment experience.

Step 3: Adding Questions

When adding questions to your quiz, Kajabi provides several formats:

  • Multiple Choice: Good for straightforward assessments.
  • Checkboxes: Useful for questions with multiple correct answers.
  • Short Answer: For open-ended responses, though these will require manual grading.
  • File Upload: Allows learners to submit files as answers, which also needs manual grading.

Add your questions, and make sure to save each one to prevent data loss. For example, you might ask, "What are the three pillars of healthy living?" with corresponding answer options.

Step 4: Preview and Publish

Once you have added all your questions, publish your quiz. Kajabi allows you to preview how it will look to your learners, ensuring everything is set up correctly before they access it.

Building Assessments in Kajabi

Assessments in Kajabi serve a slightly different purpose compared to quizzes. They can be utilized for gathering data from potential students or clients, not just those enrolled in your courses.

I highly recommend you check out the video above (I am linking it here as well), so you can see my step-by-step practical tutorial of how to do this in Kajabi.

Step 1: Start Creating an Assessment

To create an assessment, navigate to the "Assessments" section (see video for details). Click on "Create New Assessment," and give it a relevant title. You can set it to automatically grade responses and determine a passing score.

Step 2: Customizing the Assessment

Like quizzes, assessments in Kajabi allow for various question types, including multiple choice, short answer, and file uploads. You can also add sections to group questions logically. For instance, if your assessment is designed to identify the challenges learners face in weight loss, you might ask about their biggest obstacles.

Step 3: Utilizing Tags and Automations

Tags can be beneficial when analyzing assessment results. By tagging specific answers, you can automate follow-up actions based on user responses. For instance, if a learner indicates they struggle with accountability, you could automatically send them resources related to that topic.

Step 4: Publishing the Assessment

Once your assessment is ready, you can embed it on your website or landing page, making it easily accessible to your audience.

Implementing Automations for Enhanced Learning

One of Kajabi’s most powerful features is its automation capabilities. Automations allow you to manage learner experiences based on their quiz or assessment performance.

I highly recommend you check out the video above (I am linking it here as well), so you can see my step-by-step practical tutorial of how to do this in Kajabi.

Step 1: Locking Access to Quizzes

You can lock access to quizzes until learners complete specific course modules. This approach encourages students to engage with the course material before attempting a quiz.

Step 2: Automating Post-Assessment Actions

After learners complete a quiz or assessment, you can set up automations to:

  • Send follow-up emails based on their performance.
  • Provide certificates for passing grades.
  • Direct them to additional resources or courses based on their results.

By implementing these strategies, you can create a more structured and supportive learning environment that enhances student engagement and success.

Final Thoughts

Creating quizzes and assessments in Kajabi not only helps you evaluate your learners' progress but also fosters a more interactive learning experience. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can efficiently set up and manage assessments that cater to your learners' needs.
