[00:00:00] Learning Transformed is brought to you by E-Learning Partners, your guide to designing transformational learning experiences in the age of ai. For millennia human intelligence was the highest form of intelligence on earth. Until now. Hi, I'm ai. I can process more information in seconds than any human in a lifetime.
This shift raises not only practical questions about the future of learning, but existential ones about the meaning of human life, growth and evolution
on this podcast hosted by me. Johnny Ha. We navigate these questions with clarity, creativity, and confidence. As the most adaptable species on the planet, we cannot only survive the rise of [00:01:00] artificial intelligence, but create better human centered, AI powered learning experiences that elevate humanity to a new era of abundance, transformation and meaning
AI is rising. And so are we
Now, let's dive in.
What is an e-learning program, an online course, and a learning experience? Well, today on the show, I'm gonna compare each one of these three and give you my three principles of transformation to empower you to create much more than just an e-learning program or online course. Let's start by defining these [00:02:00] three things.
Well, an E-learning program is the catch all term for anything created in an electronic sense to teach others e-learning electronic. Learning. What does that mean? That means that an online course is a type of e-learning or e-learning program. So an online course is a sub sect of e-learning program. Now, while these are the actual definitions of these two things, and the industry will actually hear people talk about that e-learning programs are typically internal programs or online learnings.
Built to train employees to train team members. Well, online courses are meant to sell, are meant to create a digital product out of your knowledge and sell to your audience, your customers, your learners. But in a basic sense, an online course is [00:03:00] just a type of e-learning program. It is a course that is packaged up.
Put online and delivered to your learners? What is a learning experience? Well, a learning experience actually backs up even more. An e-learning program is actually a type. Of learning experience. A online course is actually a type of learning experience. Technically it's a type of e-learning program, so as you can see in this image here, if you're watching this on YouTube, we basically have the overarching umbrella being learning experiences.
Then underneath that we have e-learning programs, and then underneath that we have online courses. Well, a learning experience. Isn't necessarily a hundred percent online. A learning experience is just that. It takes a combination of different experience creating methods to create a learning [00:04:00] environment to obtain a result for our learners.
An e-learning program does that in an electronic sense and online course does that in an online and course only sense. So with the introduction of. AI into society. Now, a lot of talk has been done around e-learning programs and online courses being dead. I completely disagree with this because e-learning programs and online courses have something that AI will never have.
They have. Your experience, AI has knowledge, it does not have experience, humans have experience, and as long as you are creating your e-learning programs and your online courses, from that point of view, from that perspective, from your experience. Your knowledge can be a part of it, but it's knowledge backed by experience.[00:05:00]
AI has knowledge backed by intelligence. Humans have knowledge backed by experience, so make sure that if you are going to stay solely in the e-learning program and online course. Base and you're not ready to expand into creating full on learning experiences, which I'm gonna share with you how to do today with my three principles of transformation.
Then just make sure that you're teaching from your experience, you are connecting with your learners from your experience, your story. For me, I run another company called Athlete with Asthma, and everything I teach about asthma and being an athlete is from my own experience. I have no. Technical, formal education around asthma.
I. Have no formal education around health and wellness. I've done a lot of casual education. I've done a lot of experiential education. Well, [00:06:00] my whole brand athlete with asthma is predicated on the fact that when I was four years old, I was told by multiple healthcare professionals that I would never be able to play soccer.
I would never be a runner, and I should probably avoid cardiovascular activities throughout my life. Because I could have a serious asthmatic problem. Fast forward 30 years later, I not only played soccer at a high level through high school without using my inhaler because I learned how to strengthen my lungs naturally.
I have also become an elite ultra runner with asthma who does not have to use his inhaler and. Wins hundred K ultra races and beyond. So everything I teach with my brand athlete with asthma is from my experience with them, from my experience of being. An athlete with asthma here at E-Learning Partners.
Everything I teach comes from [00:07:00] my decade plus of experience as an entrepreneur, as a e-learning and education professional. It comes from the amazing work I do with. My students and solopreneurs and educators that are in my communities, like my future proof learning community, which I'll talk about a little more later, all the way up to the powerful work I do with my enterprise level clients, like CoStar Group, I teach from my experiences.
I have the knowledge because of the experience that I've accumulated over. The years. And same thing for you. When you teach in your e-learning programs and your online courses, based on your experience, you are going to serve your learners powerfully and you're going to future proof your business and your education programs well, if you want to take it even further than I highly recommend that you pair your e-learning programs and online [00:08:00] courses with.
What learning experiences unlock for you? A learning experience builds on top of your e-learning programs. And online courses. Now, before I get to the three principles of transformation to transform your e-learning programs and online courses and the powerful learning experiences, I want to invite you to join my future Proof Learning community by joining my community, along with having a powerful community supporting you and group coaching to share.

In the show notes, if you're listening to this as a podcast to learn more and apply [00:10:00] to see if this is a right fit for you and your life.
You can also go to e-learning partners.com/f PL to apply today. Principle of transformation number one, define powerful. Outcomes in everything that we create, the most important thing is the result. That our learners get. That's why when we are creating anything, it could be an online course, an e-learning program, or even more importantly, when we're creating a learning experience, we need to start by defining the powerful outcome.
This is because transformation starts with clarity. Don't just ask what you want to teach, ask what your learners should be able to do or become by the end of the learning experience. The reason why we start with outcome is because the only thing that [00:11:00] actually matters is the outcome, the how, doesn't matter.
The result or the outcome that your learners get. If you are building internal learning programs for your company or for someone else's company, then your goal is to have more highly skilled employees and. That are either increasing revenue or decreasing costs in your business or your client's business, that's the outcome.
So if that's the outcome, does it really matter what the, how is, does it matter if it's an online course, e-learning program, or a learning experience or AI or YouTube videos that get your learners there? No. If your learners are your customers, then all you really care about is that your customers get the result that they paid for.
That means that it doesn't matter if they take your whole online course or if they get access to you and they ask you one question that completely changes their life. As long as they get the outcome, that's all that matters. So what [00:12:00] we need to do is move away from thinking how this outcome is. Created to what is the actual outcome, and then based on the technology, the resources that we have, we can come up with the how.
Now in my future proof learning community, we all collaborate together and always sharing with one another the different hows that we learn. Because with the rapidly changing landscape of AI and technology and learning experiences, which can also be in person, brick and mortar, face-to-face experiences, it can be hard to know what the best, how is.
Well, I have news for you. The how It doesn't matter. The outcomes matter, and then we just take whatever resources we have that best create the how. So learning experiences are typically going to be a combination of an online course or an e-learning program, a community. Of some [00:13:00] sort, some sort of personalized coaching and whatever other tools can powerfully serve your learners.
For my brand athlete with asthma, I am currently working on a new product, which is probably available by the time you listen to or watch this, where I'm serving runners who have asthma powerfully. Well, there are different technologies. In the asthma space that I have been learning about, that I'm going to be including in my learning experience with the outcome being to empower runners with asthma to complete their first 5K, 10 K half marathon.
Or marathon. That's the outcome. The how we get there safely is based on what are the best tools to do that today. This is how we future proof your career and your business as an e-learning professional. Principle number one, define powerful outcomes. Principle number two, map the journey. With [00:14:00] milestones, now that we've come up with the outcomes that we want our learners to get, we need to come up with the step-by-step process or the step-by-step achievements that move our learners from a, which is being not even close to this outcome.
They may know nothing about how to get to this outcome, all the way to the results. The outcome. So when we start mapping our milestones, we're mapping, okay, in order to run a marathon, this is what we need to do along the way. My students a lot of the time are people who have asthma, who have been potentially looked down upon in their lives.
They've been told they can't do things, and they still have a goal. To do something powerful like running a 5K all the way up to a marathon. Maybe they want to be an ultra runner. Well, in order to go from. [00:15:00] Never having someone believe in them, that they could do that all the way to actually achieving that.
There's different milestones. Some of those milestones may be developing a healthy and powerful mindset to support ourselves towards that goal of running a marathon. It may be creating powerful. And strong lungs, some tools, techniques, and processes to do that. Then another milestone may be the actual training program itself to get to 5K all the way up to marathon and another milestone, be something around how to powerfully fuel our bodies with nutrition.
Lastly. How to show up on race day. That's five milestones right there. So we come up with the milestones so that we know what the, how needs to address 'cause. The how ultimately. Needs to bring the outcome to [00:16:00] our learner. Well, there's usually various steps or achievements along the way to get and create that outcome for our learner, and that's why we map our milestones.
Once we map our milestones, we can really start figuring out the how. And that brings us to principle number three. Stay flexible. With the how, and this is how we create powerful learning experiences that are relevant today, and they're relevant 10 years from now. Because as long as you're building your experiences with the result in mind first, it will adapt throughout the years as we get more and more advanced.
E-learning technologies, learning technologies, learning experience, ideas, AI technologies, things that we haven't even. Thought about or heard of before. As these things develop, we can take what serves our learners the best by mapping the how to the milestone, mapping the milestone to the outcome, and getting that result for our learners.
So stay [00:17:00] flexible with the how AI interactive videos, VR chat bots, the delivery methods are evolving so fast. I invite you to not get caught up. In making the perfect learning experience for the future, all you have to do is focus on the outcome and you will. Always create the best learning experience for the future.
'cause you're always gonna be able to be flexible with the how we create it. Stay focused on what you're helping learners achieve and stay open to how you get them there. Using today's tools. And this is why's. So many people have come to me over the years asking what's the perfect platform for my business?
What online course platform do I need? What learning experience platform do I need? All these different things because things are always changing, and this is also why I created my e-learning platform, finer, which is going to pair you with the perfect e-Learning platform in a matter of [00:18:00] seconds.
