Today on the show, I'm gonna share with you a powerful strategy that you can use to get the answers to the hardest questions and challenges that you are encountering in your business and in your life. Together we are going to bridge the connection between your current self. And your future self. And this is what I help my VIP coaching experience Clients here at [00:02:00] e-Learning partners do by creating what we call an impossible goal, coined by, or at least greatly spoke about by Dr.
Benjamin Hardy and across his books. But the book I really wanna share with you today is be your future self. Now what we really wanna do is start by creating an impossible goal. You may already have one like my VIP coach and client Mario does. Together we are working on halfing, the world suicide rate in the next three years.
So an impossible goal is a goal with a bigger and better. Reality. This means that it is a goal that isn't just two X better than what you currently have in your business. It is a goal that is 10 x or more. [00:03:00] It is an impossible goal. The second part of this is we want our impossible goal to have a very short or aggressive timeline.
Dr. Benjamin Hardy shares across his books that you want your timeline to be three years. Or less. 10 years is too long. 10 years doesn't cause the change that we need today. 10 years is really far away for you to connect with your future self. Three years or less is a great starting point. I also invite you.
To look at your goal in the frame of one year or less, and 90 days or less. And [00:04:00] today we're gonna use these three timelines, these three time periods to connect with our future self. And to get the answers that you and I need today in this present moment by talking to our future selves. In his book, Dr.
Benjamin Hardy says, your identity drives your behavior. If you identify with your future self, your decisions. Change Now, say this again. Your identity drives your behavior, and if you identify with your future self, your decisions change now because your future self is a completely different person. Have you ever noticed that as [00:05:00] you grow, your preferences change over time?
Think of five years ago, 10 years ago. What did you like to eat? Who did you spend time with? What did you like to do? You can even change day after day. You may even see that you change month after month. Week after week, day after day. Well, by bridging this gap, by connecting with your future self, your future self has answers to questions that you are uncovering today.
Wouldn't you agree that? The future version of yourself that has achieved your goals has a different perspective than the current version of yourself. If so, then I invite you to join me on a little journey, and I invite you to integrate these three powerful practices into your life. Starting today. I'm gonna start by writing [00:06:00] three letters from your future self.
Two, your current self, and we're gonna do this a three year, a one year. And a 90 day interval. This is one of the tools that Dr. Benjamin Hardy expresses to be the most powerful in connecting with your future self. When you bridge this gap, when you start connecting with your future self, you will start making powerful changes on a subconscious level in your life.
The key here is when you're writing the letter. You're writing it from the perspective from, that's a big M, your future self. So you're not writing to your future self. [00:07:00] You're writing from your future self. You are embodying the character. So what you need to do is take that impossible goal and look at your life.
A three year, a one year and a 90 day interval. I like to write my 90 day letter. Pretty frequently I filter questions through and my life through the 90 day version of myself on a weekly basis, either by writing a letter or now I'll actually even talk to my future self, ask my future self what my life looks like in 90 days.
You're addressing it, so you're talking from your future self to. Your present self. So when you are addressing yourself, you do it like this. Johnny, I [00:08:00] now have over 10,000 followers on YouTube. I got this by really. Focusing on impact, focusing on serving my audience at the highest level, giving them the answers that they need, focusing on what they need, what I, what value I can provide for them.
And I've done this by increasing the output of how often I do this. Instead of doing this once a week, I'm now doing this two to three times a week. See what I mean? So you talk from. Your future self. Two, your present self. Now I want you to have fun, and at first it may seem like, well, this is weird. How is this even gonna work?
You'll start to go into a trance. Another one of my goals is owning a property in the mountains. And when I have talked to my future self, my future self says, we are in the process of looking. We have the money for [00:09:00] it, we've budgeted for the property. We are in the process of looking. For the property, it just empowers me.
It starts to filter my actions in the present moment. So write a letter, three letters. Doesn't have to be that long. Just start writing. Take like five minutes and write from each of these three intervals from your. Future self to your present self. That is practice number one. Number two, once you've started to establish this connection between you and your future self, it's time to ask some questions.
This was an experiment for me. I had already written my letters from my future self to my present self. But then I decided that why not keep the dialogue open and instead of that just being a one time thing, oh, I wrote these letters. I got pumped in the moment. It [00:10:00] really, I really got me visualizing which visualization works 100%.
I had a race. I'm an ULTRARUNNER as well. And I had a race back in 2024, and starting about three months out from my race, I visualized the entire course. Now I knew the entire course because I run the entire course, so I visualized the entire course and I visualized crossing the finish line and breaking my personal record and placing.
In the race. I visualize it over and over and over. I was connecting with my future self and I didn't just do it once. I did it on a daily basis by visualizing. I made different choices in the moment in my day-to-day life. 'cause you can visualize and not change. You can connect with your future self, but not do anything.
The point of connecting with your future self is to make changes in the present. By connecting with the future, you can [00:11:00] impact the present. The future tells you what you need to do in the present. So by doing this, I started really coming up with, okay, well if I'm gonna do this, then I need to make sure.
That I have a team to support me. So I hired a coach. I knew that I needed to have the help and the support of my fiance, Tatiana. She not only cooked, ran my crew, she filled every single one of my camelbacks, made sure I had the fuel I needed, and basically managed the whole event. So that I didn't have to, I knew that I needed that if I was gonna achieve my goals.
I also knew that I had to run a certain amount of mileage every week. I knew that I needed to stay healthy. I couldn't get injured because I visualized and I connected with my future self. Well, long story short, I won that race. I ran 62 miles in 90 degree heat in 12 hours, and I won that race visualization works, connecting with your future self [00:12:00] works and asking.
Your future self questions is a shortcut to the highest value answers you're gonna get in your present. And I do this in a similar way. You may find it most powerful to ask questions to yourself 90 days in the future. Maybe it's one year, maybe it's three years, maybe it's somewhere in between. Whatever it is, I invite you to do the same thing you did in practice one where you write a letter, so you ask, Hey, I am looking to half the global suicide rate in the next three years.
What do I need to do in the next 90 days to do? Well, my VIP coaching client, Mario asked this exact question and here's what he was told. He was told that in the next 90 days, he needs to serve 50,000 people. [00:13:00] And then he asked himself, well, how am I gonna do that? Well, I need to find. One to five companies with 10 K to 50 K employees and serve them powerfully.
This came from talking with this future self. This is why I teach my VIP coaching clients to do this. This is why be your future self. Now by Dr. Benjamin Hardy is such a powerful book and tool for you and I to have in our lives. So it's the same thing from Future You to present. You.
And you could do this on a daily basis. You could do this every time you have a question that you need some guidance on, and I guarantee that it will give you some clarity on what you need to do on a [00:14:00] day-to-day basis to achieve your goals. You may not get the exact answer, but you're gonna get the pathway.
To the answer by talking to your future self. The third practice I wanna share with you is definitely a daily practice and it's daily gratitude. We're gonna do this in two ways, and this is something that Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan, the authors of the gap in the gain share in their book and in their other book, 10 x is easier than two X daily Gratitude.
What we want to do. Is connect with our past self and our future self at the end of every single day. This really takes our past, our present, and our future, and we align them all together. We wanna do this every day. I invite you to, at the end of every day, [00:15:00] write down three wins. From the day. This is the wins that you had today.
This allows you to be grateful for your past self and what you just accomplished today. This brings the wins into the present, and the other thing we want to do is project or come up with three wins for tomorrow. This is three. If you come up with more. I typically, when I do the three wins for today, when I'm being grateful for my past self, I come up with more than three.
In the present. I have to stop 'cause of how many I come up with. I at least come up with three to five, but it can just go and go and go and go, and it really makes me feel good and abundant in the present. And it sets up the [00:16:00] future very nicely for the future. For the tomorrow wins, you do want to cap it at three.
You should really only be focused on getting three wins per day. You're gonna get more, most likely you're gonna get more than three, but you wanna set yourself up with three. So connect with your past by being grateful for three wins for today. And then set yourself up for tomorrow, your future by coming up with three wins for tomorrow.
And these three wins that you're setting yourself up with should be based on what you've been talking your future self about goals and priorities that drive the present based on your new identity. As your future self.
