How to Create Content Consistently (It’s Not What You Think)

Creating and marketing an eLearning course requires a great deal of content creation. You have to create the content for your course and don’t necessarily want that process to take too long. But you will also need to create content consistently to market it. After all, you will market it via various types of content, such as sharing it in videos on YouTube or blog posts.

The idea of making so much content doesn’t have to be intimidating. With a few simple steps, you can learn how to create consistent content without being overwhelmed by the prospect.

Step #1. Commit to an Achievable Goal

Start by coming up with an achievable goal for your content and then stick to it. This goal can take many forms. One option is a creation-based goal. Maybe you commit to shooting five pieces of content every time you go to shoot something. The other option is a posting goal. For example, maybe you want to put out five pieces of content every month.

The key here is to choose a goal that is attainable. This way, you can commit to it and follow through with the goal.

Step #2. Find a Content Management System

Next, you will need to find a content management system. After all, once you figure out how to create consistent content, you’ll be making a lot of content and need a way to keep it organized. Without a content management system of some sort, it can be a complete mess. From PDFs to microlearning modules, you’ll need to know where everything is and be able to keep track of what’s going on. On top of that, there will be many people involved in the process, making it even more complicated.

Simply put, a content management system helps you stay organized, so everyone is always on the same page, and you know where your content is. But your content management system doesn’t have to be complicated. Excel works very well for this.

Step #3. Get a Content Production Flow Chart System

In addition to a content management system, you need to set up a content product flow chart of some sort. This outlines the various steps of producing content and assigns people to each one. It helps ensure that everyone knows what they are doing, who they have to hand their task off to, and everything else.

Step #4. Produce Content in Bulk

Now, you are ready to start creating your content in bulk. This is one of the most important parts of how to create consistent content. By producing the content in bulk, you will be able to plan ahead, so you can deliver or post the content when you need to.

Conclusion

To make multiple eLearning courses and promote them, you will find yourself needing to create consistent content. To do so, start with a realistic goal and then commit to it. Use a content management system and a content production flow chart to stay organized. Then, start creating content in bulk, and you will have enough to be consistent.
